1. How are LuxemBright® LED products different from the competition’s products?
A: LuxemBright® LED’s offer a uniquely designed pixel formation that creates a uniform beam pattern without producing any hot spots when mounted on the return and greatly reducing hot spots when mounted on the letter back. LuxemBright® is the only product on the market using tried and true through-hole LEDs as the light source.

2. What is the difference between LuxemBright® Standard, LuxemBright® Economy and LuxemBright® Mini LED modules?
A: LuxemBright® Standard and LuxemBright® Economy utilize identical modules (10 LEDs inside a rugged casing that’s fully potted with silicone) and technologies. Standard modules are manufactured using 3 modules per foot while Economy modules come 2 per foot.
Warm White color is only available in the LuxemBright® Standard line of modules.
LuxemBright® Mini modules feature 3 round (110 degree x 110 degree) LED’s per module and 3 modules per foot. The "Mini" is much smaller in physical size and works excellent for applications where larger modules won’t "fit" the bill.

A: Each LuxemBright® LED module features double-backed tape, with EZ Pull Tab, pre-applied to the back of each module. Use the double-backed tape to apply to a mostly flat surface. For rounded surfaces a build-up of double-backed tape may be required.
Additionally, mechanical fastening points are provided on the LuxemBright® Standard and Economy modules.
***Both the manufacturer and Sign Lights, Inc. highly recommend utilizing a small bead of silicone at each fastening point.

7. Explain UL Approved vs. UL Recognized "UR"?
A: UL has no actual terminology for "approval". There is only UL Listed or UL Recognized. UL listed is a term used qualify and entire product, such as a television or a toaster. To gain an overall UL listing all parts within the finished product must be UL Recognized (UR).
LuxemBright® products are all UL Recognized and may be utilized by companies wanting to stay within UL guidelines for use of materials, provided LuxemBright® products are mounted/installed within those guidelines.

11. If a single LuxemBright® LED module fails, how does it effect the other modules?

12. Why do you suggest mounting LuxemBright® modules to the return or sidewall of Channel letter displays?
A: LuxemBright® modules may be placed either on the sidewall/return or the back. There may be cases that sidewall/return mounting will provide a more even distribution of light.
Additionally, there will be cases when mounting to the sidewall/return will reduce the total number of LED modules required to brightly and evenly light a particular product.
Experimenting with sidewall/return and back mounting options is something we would encourage you to do. You may find that you can yield significant dollar savings by determining which option works best for your particular application.

13. What is the difference between letter WIDTH and letter STROKE?
A: Many people use these terms interchangeably. However, letter width should be looked at as the measurement, at the widest horizontal point, from the outermost edge of the letter on one side to the outermost edge of the other side.
Letter stroke is best defined as the width of the interior components of any letter, including "legs", ascenders, descenders, etc. This is the area populated with LED’s or neon to add illumination. Varying letter "strokes" will require a varying number of rows of lighting product.

14. What is the difference between WAVELENGTH and COLOR TEMPERATURE?
A: Wavelength is a function of light measured in nanometers. All colors utilize this spectrum with purple (370nm) at the low end of the spectrum, to red (650nm) at the upper end.
White is measured in color temperature or in degrees Kelvin. Warm White, almost yellow, is 2,500K and cool white, almost blue is 14,000K. There are a wide variety of color temperatures in between warm and cool white.
